Magda and I have been exploring the role art can play in exploring themes such as Death, Dead Mothers, Cremation and ashes through conversation and sharing of intimate performance interventions with each other in our live art labs. Performance Labs open up to the unknown and the path of exploration where comprehensive ideas can be formulated, explored and exchanged.
This led us to perform together at Open Ealing kindly hosted Performance Platform in April 2024.
How do you feel the smell of the ashes? emphasises feelings and sensations that arise while Dagmara talks about her experience from the moment her mother died, to the experience of cremation and spreading her mother's ashes, while audience members smell ashes and write their sensations on the performer's bodies.
